We have an immediate opening for a part time (20 hours per week) Wellness Coach to manage our staff Wellness Program.
SUMMARY:
Under the direction of the Director of Administrative Services, the Wellness Coach coordinates the agency wellness program through education and coaching and encourages staff participation through outreach and communication of activities.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
• Works with employees to assist in meeting health and wellness goals related to weight, nutrition, exercise, stress, smoking cessation, work/life balance and general health
• Collaborates with health partners (i.e., Kaiser) to coordinate and promote health and wellness programs and makes recommendations to management
• Promotes a culture of health and wellness through ongoing participation in staff meetings and projects, task forces, client-directed outreach, and committees
• Coordinate and facilitate Lunch and Learn workshops related to health and wellness
• Outreach to health partners to bring speakers, exercise programs, etc. to the agency
• Research and gather pertinent health information for presentations, promotions, etc.
• Provide comprehensive nutrition and exercise information, resources and trainings
• Coordinate Biometric Screenings and Health Risk Assessments for participating staff
• Analyze results of screenings and meet with staff to develop individual goals/plans
• Provide referrals to staff for health and wellness resources outside of the agency
• Ensure health and wellness materials are distributed throughout the agency.
• Ensure posters and signs promoting health and wellness are placed throughout the agency
• Recommend health and wellness programs to management
• Manage health and wellness initiatives (such as Weight Loss Challenge)
• Evaluate the nutritional needs of staff and clients
• Consulate with other health professionals on nutrition management for staff and clients. Educate staff about nutrition
• Create surveys and focus groups for staff to provide input on the wellness program
• Collect data to demonstrate the effectiveness of the wellness program
• Attends required agency and program meetings
• Participate in agency Program Quality Improvement initiatives and/or meetings
• Ensure safe work environment and report any unsafe issues to Facilities Manager
• Regular attendance is a requirement of the position
• Other duties as assigned
QUALIFICATIONS:
Bachelor’s degree in Health Sciences, Nutrition, Kinesiology or related discipline highly desired; or AA plus two years related health and wellness experience and/or training. Experience working with a culturally diverse population required. Valid California driver’s license with access to a personal vehicle that can be used for company business (with current personal automobile insurance). Experience working with culturally diverse staff required. Fingerprinting/background check as required by the Department of Justice and/or Title XXII regulations. TB test required.
SALARY RANGE:
Depending on experience. Benefits include prorated Personal Time Off (PTO) Plan and prorated Paid Holidays.
