    • Possesses deep knowledge in own area of expertise, duties are varied and also require a broad knowledge base to perform.

    Education
    • Must have graduated from International Coach Federation (ICF) accredited school

    Position Summary:
    RedBrick Health is seeking an experienced health coach for Cisco’s LifeConnections Health Center, an innovative and award winning corporate medical facility located in San Jose, California. The health center is a primary care medical home designed exclusively for Cisco employees and their families, and offers integrated health and wellness services that provide best in class, personalized quality care.

    The Health Coach (“coach”) will be a key player on an integrated multi-disciplinary team, collaborating with the LifeConnections Health Center physicians and providers as a trusted health care professional. The coach’s role is to work directly with patients and clients helping them achieve personal health and lifestyle goals. The coach acts as a motivator and guided health expert. Enabling care collaboration, both the coach and patient have access to RedBrick’s leading-edge online tools designed to create customized wellness journeys with realistic goal planning.
    Additionally, the health coach will be working in the most advanced setting of any corporate medical center. As a high-tech facility, the health coach will be able conduct telehealth consult sessions, using Cisco’s high definition and audio technology solutions, aligning to Cisco’s culture and current health care market trends.

    Essential Job Functions:
    The coach will work closely with the employees and their families to help promote and facilitate a healthier culture. The coach will offer one-on-one coaching sessions and design a personal roadmap that will assist the client to achieve lifestyle goals and behavior modification. Specifically, the coach will provide education on a range of health matters, accountability to established goals, and direct the employees to the appropriate expert resources for health concerns outside of their scope of knowledge.

    Moreover, the coach will organize and facilitate support groups based on health topic.
    The coach will also create, organize, market and implement onsite educational opportunities to address the health needs of the employee population. The coach will also promote and motivate employees to enroll in online and telephonic programs, customer-specific programs and other activities as identified.

    Essential Job Requirements:

    • Education: Bachelor’s degree in a health related field
    • Certification/License in specific field (if they have a specialty such as RN, exercise physiologist, nutritionist, other)
    • Experience: Three to five years of experience in fields related to health coach role preferred, including for exampke, nurse line, disease management, cardiac rehab, medical fitness centers, dietary counseling, and weight loss.
    • Two to four years of experience with individual behavior change management, motivational interviewing and health coaching
    • Experience with implementing and presenting a health focused curriculum for a population
    • Previous experience working as an on-site health coach preferred
    • Ability to conduct individual and group coaching sessions that create a comfortable and confidential environment for consumers
    • Possess a Coaching style that supports consumer-driven goal setting and change

This person will be responsible for developing a wellness coaching relationship with members and assisting the member through the process of actively working towards better health by providing support, encouragement, and education.

    Duties and Responsibilities

    • Work one-on-one with members, coaching them to improve the lifestyle behaviors that contribute to poor health (lack of exercise and fitness, poor nutrition, smoking, stress, weight management, etc.)
    • Promote current health and wellness services and Club offerings such as personal training, dietician services, massage, and nail technician services.

    Qualifications

    • Experience programming or teaching health/fitness related seminars, specialty wellness programs along with the ability to lead and participate in exercise/wellness activities.
    • Must have knowledge of sound nutrition, exercise physiology, anatomy and kinesiology.
    • 3-5 years of experience in wellness coaching and/or personal training/and/or fitness instruction.
    • Accreditation in ACSM, ACE, NSCA, or AFFA
    • Specific knowledge and ability in fitness instruction as well as preventative measures in health and fitness.
    • First Aid, CPR and AED certificates
