    Cox Enterprises has a number of successful leadership and executive development programs that demonstrably improve the leadership skills of our executives, business managers and high-potentials across all of our businesses.

    This individual will be responsible for leading 1-2 programs to ensure they make a long-term impact on participants and a measurable contribution to our businesses, as well as participate in the development of new programs and tools.

    While experienced in executive development, this person must also be a strategic thinker who can assess the people, cultural and operational challenges facing entire businesses and facilitate meaningful solutions, have a track record of building credibility with senior leaders (including C-level) and senior HR staff, and have a history of recognizing and capitalizing on opportunities for organizational improvement.

    This individual will also work with our businesses (Broadband, Automotive, Newspaper, Radio, Television) and their executive and HR leaders to support their business and human resource initiatives (organizational design, talent management, change management, problem-solving, teaming, process improvement, succession planning).

    Initiative, creativity, influence, credibility, adaptability, independence, high standards, intellect, presence and relationship-building are keys to being successful in this position. Also have a curiosity and willingness to learn and apply new areas of knowledge.

    Based in the Perimeter area of Atlanta, Georgia, the Business Effectiveness and Executive Development Consultant will report to the Vice-President of Human Resource Development and Diversity.

    UPDATE!!!! RELOCATION WILL BE CONSIDERED FOR THIS ROLE.

    Approximately 25-30% domestic travel, concentrated in first half of year.

    Position Duties

    Executive Development/Talent Management: Lead the year-long Cox Leadership Program (CLP) for high-potential candidates and senior leaders from Cox businesses. Design and implement changes to current program as needed, manage program logistics, facilitate experiential learning sessions, and select and supervise external executive coaches.

    Create new executive development initiatives based on needs identified through other work (high potential identification, assessment, succession, consulting, etc.) by designing innovative action-learning approaches.

    Support our talent management initiatives in identifying enterprise senior leader learning needs, and building and executing effective leadership development strategies that align leadership development efforts with business and talent strategies.

    Coach: Serve as Executive Coach for senior executives, participants in leadership development programs, executives transitioning into new positions, and as needed by Cox businesses.

    Internal Consultant: Partner with Cox Enterprises business leaders to identify key business issues, propose solutions, and assist in successful implementation of solutions in the areas of: talent management, organizational design, change management, strategic planning, problem-solving, teaming, performance management, and succession planning.

    Facilitator: Lead large and small group development and problem-solving session as part of development and consulting role. Develop agendas based on client’s needs.

    Design Learning: Periodically assess development needs of leadership populations, develop corresponding learning solutions, and ensure successful implementation. Use knowledge of distance learning and various instructional methodologies.

    Build Relationships and Commitment: Cox Enterprises is a highly decentralized company of over 200 different businesses. “Selling to” and collaborating with these businesses to implement client-focused solutions is an integral part of this position, as well as maintaining strong internal client relationships.

    Qualifications

    Candidate Profile

    • Ten solid years in executive development and organizational effectiveness
    • Strong interpersonal, executive coaching, and facilitation skills (demonstrated C-suite experience).
    • Strong consulting background with senior teams in organizations of similar size and scope to Cox.
    • Experience in change management, talent management and team dynamics.
    • Strong business acumen (business strategy, sales, operations, finance)
    • Proven ability to diagnose and develop solutions for resolving complex people and business challenges for which there might not be a clear path.
    • Line management experience required.
    • MBA or other graduate degree such as a PhD in Industrial/Organizational or Consulting Psychology a plus; up to date on best practices
    • Experienced self-starter capable of working independently in a results-oriented environment
    • Experienced in prioritizing and managing multiple project responsibilities
    • Experienced in designing and implementing sophisticated experiential and action-learning activities
    • A curiosity for business, learning, and identifying ways to positively impact people’s lives and business results.
    • A deep knowledge base of executive leadership “wisdom” based on a strong understanding of business, strategy, and the successful-leader mindset.
    • Demonstrated learning agility.
    • Demonstrated ability to communicate effectively verbally and in writing.
    • Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Word, PowerPoint, Outlook). Embraces and learns new technology, including social media.
