    Health Advocate seeks motivated professional to provide telephone/internet wellness coaching and support to members requesting assistance with developing and implementing individualized wellness plans. Must be comfortable providing guidance to members to improve their health through lifestyle changes related to nutrition, physical activity, chronic conditions, tobacco cessation and stress management.

    Responsibilities include:

    • In response to member’s health assessment and/or biometric screening results, coach and problem solve with member to identify and address specific goal(s) to support health and behavior change.
    • Provide health education and coaching services telephonically, electronically and via instant message.
    • Identifying members in need of additional services and making appropriate referrals
    • Conduct research on topics related to health promotion and disease prevention to meet member’s needs.
    • Utilize key coaching skills including motivational interviewing and appreciative inquiry to encourage positive behavior change by member.
    • Utilize approved health education resources to achieve more effective wellness outcomes.
    • Manage case load, monitor deadlines and maintain accurate calendar for member outreach.

    Skills required:

    • Minimum of 1 year experience in a health or wellness related field.
    • Minimum of a Bachelor’s degree in a health related field (i.e. health education, nutrition, exercise physiology) required
    • Master’s degree preferred
    • Previous coaching and motivational interviewing experience a plus
    • Content knowledge of chronic conditions, exercise, nutrition and weight management essential
    • Demonstrated ability to work independently and as part of a team
    • Insightful with regard to human behavior with the ability to foster relationship building and meet members at their level of need

    We are looking for a Career Coach, at senior manager grade, on a part-time basis for 3 days a week.  This role reports directly to the Resource Management Operations Director.  This is an exciting opportunity to be part of a team delivering strategic support to our people and to help us retain our position as one of the market leading employers in the private sector.

    The PwC Careers Service is a team of professional career coaches who provide confidential and impartial careers support and coaching to individuals of all grades across the Firm. The team provides a range of services and support whether individuals are at a crossroads and considering new options, or thinking about future promotion, maximising their role  or transitioning into a new role.  It also provides developmental support, helping individuals to overcome blocks or barriers that may be impacting on career progression.

    The team sits within the Firm’s Resource Management practice and is well networked across the business, with access to a wide knowledge base of opportunities and understanding of business drivers and challenges.  This is vital to making sure they are best placed to coach/guide individuals and refer them to the most appropriate point of contact within each area of the business.

    • Provide confidential and impartial careers support and coaching to staff of all grades from Associate to Director
    • Help people to explore, pursue and attain their career goals while empowering them to take personal responsibility for managing their own careers
    • Contribute to building a sustainable and credible Careers Service reputation, being seen as approachable, trustworthy and sensitive to the needs of the business and our people, while helping to evolve the service in a changing environment
    • Facilitate career workshops in response to specific requests, or to meet business demands
    • Build and maintain relationships with key business stakeholders across the Firm. It will be imperative to acquire business insights / knowledge / challenges to enable us to support them in different ways.
    • Identify & share with business stakeholders, key issues & trends that are drawn from coaching sessions and work collaboratively with colleagues to create solutions and actions to address these.
    • Proactively identify opportunities to market the Careers Service internally, to make sure it delivers benefits to the firm and our people
    • Adhere to our service level agreements to ensure coaching is delivered in a timely manner and continually strive to improve our service to our clients and business
    • Develop intelligence on a ‘one firm’ basis about growth/non growth areas of demand and react to them appropriately

    Strong coaching, development and/or counseling experience with professional or executive coaching related qualifications (i.e. Masters in Coaching, Occupational psychology, Career guidance), and/or coaching accreditation from APECS, EMCC, ICF or AC are essential.

    • Endurance to manage a high volume of coaching sessions daily

In addition to being the first point of contact for recruiters, the incumbent will also be the first point of contact for students in the Global Mining program at the Schulich School of Business. In this role, the incumbent will also be expected to coordinate Industry specific job postings, assist with industry-specific events, research additional opportunities, assist with the review of resumes for collection in the School’s online resume bank and contact companies, under direction from the Associate Directors, Director and Executive Director.

    Desired Skills and Experience

    Education: Undergraduate University Degree; preferably with a specialization in Mining or Manufacturing from a recognized program/university.

     

    Experience: Five years of related progressive experience in recruiting, human resources or in a professional search/recruiting and/or talent acquisition environment in Mining and/or Manufacturing for a top-tier firm in Canada or the US, or similar. Including a minimum of two years of direct customer service experience. Training and experience as a career coach and current member of the International Coaching Federation (ICF) required.

     

    Skills: Coaching, advising or mentoring experience. Preference will be given to candidates that have prior experience in career coaching. Certified Coach credential (accredited by the ICF – International Coaching Federation) required. Knowledge of career opportunities in Mining and/or Manufacturing, as well as knowledge of relevant designations. Experience and knowledge in developing workshops, including conducting research and designing presentation. Close attention to detail and accuracy is essential. Advanced skills in Windows, Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Publisher, Lotus Notes, Internet Explorer and Netscape Navigator and must be able to adapt to new and emerging multi-media platforms and programs as needed. Must be able to maintain on-line employer and student databases, job postings, interview scheduling and statistical reports in Career Quest or other similar on-line recruiting software. Active listening, superior oral and written communication skills, excellent analytical skills, excellent attention to detail. Demonstrated relationship management and time management skills. High energy and enthusiasm, positive and empathic, able to provide outstanding, knowledgeable customer service to students / alumni and recruiters. Must have ability to handle high volumes of disparate work, demanding and/or disgruntled students and alumni, constant interruptions, conflicting priorities and irregular deadlines.
