Career Coaches are vital to the success of each individual participant. The Career Coach’s coaching skills and case management abilities are key to ensuring students complete the program and secure employment in their desired field. Career Coaches will have excellent interpersonal skills in both oral and written communications; proven proficiency working with diverse groups in a professional, courteous manner; and a close familiarity with local community-based resources.
Experience:
At least two year’s experience facilitating, training, coaching, and instruction.
Education:
Bachelor’s degree
Job Duties
- Assess the skills and interests of participants
- Identify potential barriers to employment, and using coaching techniques, assist students in removing those barriers
- Work with job seekers to translate military skills to match civilian industry standards
- Participate in employment events that may benefit their students
- Aid students with resume development and job search strategies
- Coordinate with the Job Placement Specialist in matching students to available MTF positions
- Conduct satisfaction surveys and exit surveys
- Distribute public awareness materials throughout the local MTF
