In this role you would function as an Executive Coach for Target, providing guidance, feedback, and support to our leaders. You will be a trusted and dynamic partner in developing and motivating leaders to achieve results both personally and professionally. The primary focus our coaching practice is focusing on development of executive leadership traits, responsibilities, strength based expansion, onboarding into new roles and significant stretch assignments. You will coach leaders who are looking to more effectively manage the growth of their businesses, become better leaders and human beings, make better decisions and achieve better results.

  • Will be a critical part of strengthening and expanding our coaching culture.
  • Be an executive coach and provide individual and team coaching in areas such as transitions, team effectiveness, communication and leadership skill development. This will be 85% of focused time in role, with the other percent spent on strategy, team leadership and personal development and growth.
  • Will continue to learn, grow and keep on trend within the world of coaching- personal development opportunities available and supported.
  • Incorporates and uses data sources and assessments such as 360 interviews and Hogan assessments within coaching engagements.
  • Builds trusting, powerful, engaging and influential relationships with senior leaders.
  • Provides a compilation of development themes gathered from coaching sessions and suggests new ways for meeting those needs.
  • Helps set and lead the strategy for the Executive Coaching Practice at Target with the Director of Talent Management.
  • Maintains an external presence and promotes Target’s reputation as a coaching culture.
  • Provides thought leadership in the development of coaching protocols and materials tailored to specific business needs.
  • Conducts evaluations and ROI measures, suggests improvements to coaching processes and programs based on internal and external trends and research.
  • Vets and orients new external coaches and monitors effectiveness.
  • Mentors and supervises internal coaches in training.
  • Helps support and lead monthly coach meetings with internal and select external coaches for purposes of internal coach supervision and aligned protocols and process.
  • Helps lead, guide and coach our external coaches.
  • Highly seasoned and recognized for expertise within and outside the business unit. Is “at the table” with management and influences when key business issues are discussed affecting the development of their designated client group.
  • Leads and directs work, client base and partnerships with autonomy.
  • Leads and guides the evolution of our coaching center of excellence.
  • Plays a leadership role within the broader Leadership Development, Survey and Assessment team.
  • Actively demonstrates living a learning culture, a growth mindset and belief in others through work, coaching and practices.

Qualifications/Experience

  • A minimum of 10 years related work experience.
  • Competent in the following key skills: Coaching, facilitation, supporting and leading change, strategic and conceptual thinking, influencing and leading by example.
  • Thorough understanding of relevant Fortune 500 businesses is required.
  • Experience demonstrating traits in trustworthiness, active listening, and direct communication.
  • Experience demonstrating the ability to provide engaging and attentive communication; the ability to create and communicate questions in personal awareness; and the ability to provide nonjudgmental services.
  • Proven ability to deliver quality materials at the appropriate level, on time and with minimal supervision.
  • Excellent planning, organizational, time management, multi-tasking, prioritizing, written and verbal communication skills.

Education

  • Must have graduated from International Coach Federation (ICF) accredited school
  • PCC or MCC with a minimum of 1,000 hours of executive coaching
  • Certification and experience in delivering assessment feedback as a result of 360 degree assessments and/or HOGAN preferred
  • Advanced degree or equivalent work experience
