_______________________________________The Career Coach provides course style training sessions and one-on-one career coaching to SIT Graduate Institute students to prepare them for finding jobs in TESOL/higher education/non profit/NGO sectors. This position reports directly to the Director of the Career and Practicum Service Center. This position supports graduate students in MBTI, Motivate Skills and Career Value self-assessments, branding and online presence, job search techniques, resume revision, cover letter creation, networking, and interviewing.
Responsibilities:
– Provide individual career coaching to students
– Deliver weekly Career Development Courses
– Facilitate students’ awareness of their work-related strengths, interests, and values
– Enhances their job search skills and capacity to express the relevance of strengths to employer.
Qualifications:
Minimum of three years current higher education experience in, or related to, career planning and employment services, including direct career coaching to students (or similar constituents). Experience in career development strategies for diverse higher education populations, preferably at the graduate level. Demonstrated success in cultivating collaborative relationships with students, faculty, staff, and professional colleagues. Excellent communication and interpersonal skills; international experience preferred. Appreciation for the importance of personal and online career guidance for every student.
Educational Background:
Master’s Degree in Education, Counseling, Human Resources or related field preferred.
