Korn Ferry Hay Group (KFHG) is supporting the UK Civil Service Learning (CSL) to deliver its Reform Plan by designing and delivering a range of leadership activities for the senior civil service. Part of this approach is providing tailored and impactful executive coaching for individuals and teams.
We are building a world class pool of talent to support senior leaders and are seeking suitably qualified and experienced people to enable the Civil Service to continue its success in supporting the delivery of Government priorities. Context information about the development needs of the civil service can be found in the Reform Plan and associated documents, all of which are available online.
We are seeking bids from suitably qualified and experienced people to be considered for assessment. Those who are successful will become associates of KFHG.
Accountabilities
– To deliver professional and personal growth to civil servants, improving their effectiveness in specific and defined areas so that they can continue to develop and contribute to a reformed civil service
– Create robust, strong and confidence-building working partnerships which are underpinned by sound coaching principles and well validated techniques
– Use established and professional coaching principles to diagnose individual’s current state and learning styles, so that future development and learning is targeted and tailored, taking into account their knowledge, experience, maturity and ambitions
– Design and assist in the implementation of development activities which are designed to suit customers’ personal needs and learning styles
– Establish objectives which include the individual being able to perform specific, well-defined tasks whilst taking into account their personal and career development needs
– Challenge civil servants’ thinking and assumptions to support them in their goal setting
– Assist CSL in the continued monitoring and collation of information regarding coaching services so that continuous improvement can be made in the management and implementation of the coaching service
Person specification
– Senior professional versed in learning and development practices, in either multinational business or senior government positions
– Significant experience of coaching senior professionals either at board level in equivalent to FTSE250 and/or the senior civil service
– Demonstrable impact from their intervention on leadership behaviour and organisational / team behaviour
– Relevant coaching qualification and clear arrangements for effective supervision in place
– Knowledge of principles and techniques of coaching, mentoring and performance consulting
– Knowledge of adult learning principles
Please note, if successful, you will be asked to attend an interview centre between 20th May and 26th May. This will take approximately two hours for introduction and activity.
